August 18th

Saturday was Lindsay and Tim's wedding. Maybe you remember their portrait session with baby Madyson a couple months ago. Lindsay and Tim's day could not have been more perfect. Gorgeous weather, great location, fantastic wedding party and families! Their wedding was at Newcastle Wedding Gardens-which is always a beautiful location. Shortly after Lindsay arrived to get dressed Tim had someone bring in a beautiful arrangement of flowers with a lovely note--ah, what a romantic!! Tim's brother was his bestman and Lindsay had her friend, Erin, of 13 years as her maid of honor. This wedding was especially fun for me because my friend John, from Sir Dancelot, from San Jose was the DJ. I hadn't seen him since my cousin's wedding last year and it was fun to see him and FINALLY meet his girlfriend Nancy.
Lindsay and Tim are a special couple to me because I photographed the birth of their daughter back in March. It was the first birth documentary I had the honor of capturing and I hope I get to have the experience again.
One of my favorite parts of the Saturday was when Lindsay and Tim took to the dance floor. WOW!!! They were SO much fun to watch. Tim had an especially good time when it came to the wedding party dance. It was so much fun to see everyone just enjoy being together on such a happy occasion.
Take a look at their collage and come back soon for more of their wedding photos!

Getting to know them

I have two sessions I'd love to share with you on this post. Chelsea and Jay are first, followed by Leslie and Joel. I have been busy doing a bunch of Getting to know You sessions lately!! I have such a crazy September, October and November, that I've been packing all my sessions into the last couple of weeks. I have had so much fun getting to know each of my clients and hearing more about them and their upcoming wedding. I photographed Chelsea and Jay last week, along with baby Jayden. Ooohh, I just couldn't get enough of the baby--he's soooo cute!!! I had a great time getting to know these new parents and telling them all about what parenthood has in store for them. I know they are going to continue to be wonderful parents; you can just see how their eyes light up whenever they are around Jayden or when they talk about him. Take a look at their photos!

A couple days later I photographed Leslie and Joel. They are such an adorable couple, but they make me feel sooooo old--they are the same age as my daughter Ali!! Ugghhh, for years I used to be the same age as all the brides, now I'm the same age as a lot of the moms! Leslie and Joel were so excited about the location where we did the photo and we had so many laughs. They were so easy to photograph-I got some great romantic shots of them, but a lot of fun ones where their personalities were able to shine. Joel seemed sort of hesitant to ask me, but he said "do you think it would be possible to get a couple pictures of my car?" Are you kidding!...a classic Nova...ABSOLUTELY!!! He told me the story of his car and how it became restored. He was such a proud guy...posing with his girl next to his car--very cute~!!

Take me out to the ballgame...

I had an engagement session last week that was a first for me-I did Debbie and Mike's photos at the Rivercats game. What a blast we had!!! Because it was going to be an allnight event, the three of us decided it would be fun if I brought my husband and daughters along. We had dinner at a great mexican restaurant in Old Sac and then we all headed over to the game. We had fantastic seats on the third base side and I couldn't believe how much fun we had. I think people thought we were old friends the way we were all laughing and joking around. In fact I had the pleasure of meeting Debbie's sister, Kathy, a couple of weeks ago and she was astounded that I had just met this couple; she thought we had been friends for a long time. I guess that just goes to show you that what they say is true...sometimes you meet someone who you feel like you've known forever.
I wanted to surprise Debbie and Mike and create a slideshow with some of their images. Click on the link beloe to see how much fun we all had!!
