Shannon and Brian

Today was another incredible Saturday at Lake Natoma Inn; this time I was honored to spend the day with Shannon and Brian. I was overwhelmed at how classy and elegant the Sierra ballroom looked. They selected simple white linens with tulips and cala lillies as the floral arrangements.

Shannon and Brian agreed to do their photos prior to the ceremony and I could see the emotion on Shannon's face even before she even saw her soon to be husband face to face. I loved working with their families today because of how close they all are. From the siblings to the grandparents, I could see how happy each and everyone of them were to be witnessing the marriage of Shannon and Brian.

One of the unique things that I enjoyed seeing today was how Shannon and Brian carried out their "something borrowed" and "something old". The something borrowed was the cake knife that was used at Brian's parents' wedding over 30 years ago. Their something old was the cake topper that was on the wedding cake of Shannon's grandparents' almost sixty years ago. What a great way to bring in family memories! And talk about memories...I don't know the story behind it, but Shannon's brother presented their dad with some purple cowboy boots. When Bill gave them to his dad he said something about "...now that Shannon is the last child to get married"... It definitely was a joke they all knew about, because everyone was in hysterics!!

Shannon and Brian are headed off to paradise in a few weeks (they actually leave for Maui the day after we get home), so hopefully they'll have some time to sit back and reflect on what a fabulous day they had and how important a day this was for everyone who loves them. All the best for a great future, Shannon and Brian!!!!
