21st century Cupid...aka...the internet

I think this definitely seems to be a trend the last couple of years. Just in the last couple of years, this is about the fifth or sixth couple I've photographed who have met via the internet. Rosemarie and Doug's wedding was spectacular yesterday! In regards to size, it was about 180 degrees different from the wedding I photographed on Saturday--although both perfect! There was one thing in common with both weddings; Rosemarie's college roommate, Misty, is the sister-in-law of Sylvia...so Misty was at BOTH weddings; it was fun seeing her two days in a row!! :) Rosemarie's favorite color is purple and I could not get over how that color was a part of her dress. This was a dress I have never seen before and was absolutely stunning!!!!! Her favorite part of the dress was the back, so I photographed a lot of her from that angle.
Rosemarie's sister, Serena, was her maid of honor and Doug's best friend of eighteen years (Kendall) was the best man. One of my favorite parts of the day was when everyone did their speeches. Serena gave a speech that lasted about 20 minutes, and was hysterical; probably the best toast I've ever heard a maid of honor give. Kendall felt a little uncomfortable following that because it was so funny, but he certainly held his own :) To go along with the "theme" of the internet, Rosemarie and Doug's friend, Sara, performed the ceremony. Sara was recently "ordained" on the internet and therefore officiated the marriage.
Rosemarie and Doug are off to Maui on their honeymoon. Doug has never been there before, so I'm sure they'll enjoy it!! Be sure to scroll down a little to the bottom of their post to see their slideshow...don't forget to leave the happy couple a comment :)

Isn't technology wonderful! I can see it was a marvelous wedding, full of family, warmth, humor--all good omens to start married life. I can almost feel I was there. From here in France, I send you both my love and best wishes for today and always.
