The right place at the right time

Friday I drove to San Jose to photograph Mary and James' engagement session, and what a great time I had! We decided to do the session in south SJ, and it was fun to see the old neighborhood again. The park was absolutely gorgeous this time of year, and we could not have asked for a better day. I was able to walk around a park where I spent a lot of time when my kids were younger, while getting to know this great couple.

I'm always amazed at how some of my clients have met. When I asked Mary how she met James, she said he was her teacher. I obviously wanted to hear more about this story :) Mary said she went to the pet store to get some food for her cat, when she decided to stop in at the karate studio that was in the same strip mall. James was the person at the counter that day, and ended up being her karate instructor. I learned in a very short amount of time that Mary is not afraid to laugh. Maybe that's why it struck me as a litle strange when she said that neither one of them like to have their photos taken. I got so many great photos of this couple I had a difficult time narrowing things down. I hope you like the photos as much as I do! Needless to say, I am so excited about their June wedding and the amazing photos we're going to get!
